Import
Since 2009, Flycore has started the bimonthly import service from major stock centers abroad. If you intend to order stocks via Flycore, please download and fill out the order forms, and email us before the bimonthly announcement. Flycore staff will reply you the order confirmation. Learn more
Maintenance
Flycore collects, maintains and provides common stocks for Drosophila research community in Taiwan. Our current collection is as follows:
(Please email us if you have a request for stocks that are not included in our current collection.)
Flycore has set up three fly food facilities since 2009 offering good quality fly-food for our community.
Northern facility by Dr. Y. Henry Sun’s and Dr. Cheng-Ting Chien’s Labs:
offering fly food for part of northern Taiwan.
Central-southern facility by Dr. Yu-Chen Tsai’s and Sheg-Sheen Fan’s Labs:
offering fly food for part of central-southern Taiwan.

DNA preparation for microinjection:
1. Extract DNA by purification kit to avoid harm from phenol-chloroform.
2. Wash with 70% ethanol twice.
3. Prepare 30 ug of dried DNA samples.
Antibody:
Flycore has collected part of antibodies from the Developmental Studies Hybridoma Bank (DSHB). Order service of antibodies (mainly by DSHB) will start soon.
To avoid repetitive purchase of the same products and improve the resource use, we plans to collect and stores the common antibodies as well as those generated by individual labs for fly community in Taiwan.
Site-specific transgenic vector:
Flycore has collected the published UAST-attB, the newly constructed UASP-attB, and the GMR-attB generated by Chun-Hong Chen’s Group in National Health Research Institutes.
Due to the release of 12 complete genomes of Drosophila species, Flycore will offer genomic DNA of these species for researchers focusing on questions in molecular evolution.
In the near future, we aim to provide the expressed sequence tag (EST) library generated by Jyh Lyh Juang’s Group in National Health Research Institutes, common vectors, and databases
