Drosophila Genetics Summer Workshop
Since 2010, Fly Core has been providing a 1- to 2-week workshop on Drosophila Genetics in summer. Professors with different expertise from the Fly Community will be lecturing in the workshop. Freshmen graduate school students and research assistants are encouraged to attend. Our workshop provides lessons on basic knowledge of Drosophila Genetics, related online resources, and hands-on experiences. Our instructors focus on group discussions throughout the sessions in order to provide the participants more practical experiences. The goal of our workshop is to train and educate incoming members who will be joining the Fly Lab after summer vacation. In this way, the members will familiarize themselves with the basic knowledge before they start conducting researches.
